Bran Muffins

Ingredients

  1. 2 c. boiling water
  2. 2 c. All-Bran cereal
  3. 2 1/2 c. sugar
  4. 1 c. shortening
  5. 1 qt. buttermilk
  6. 4 eggs
  7. 5 c. flour
  8. 5 tsp. soda
  9. 2 tsp. salt
  10. 4 c. bran flakes

Directions

  1. Combine 2 cups boiling water over All-Bran cereal.
  2. Let cool. Cream shortening and sugar.
  3. Add eggs.
  4. Add alternately the wet and dry ingredients.
  5. Bake muffins at 400° for 15 to 18 minutes. Batter will keep in refrigerator indefinitely.
