Angel Biscuits

Ingredients

  1. 5 c. self-rising flour (sift flour before measuring)
  2. 1/3 c. sugar
  3. 1 tsp. soda
  4. 1 c. shortening
  5. 2 c. buttermilk (room temperature)
  6. 2 pkg. dried yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water

Directions

  1. Sift together flour, sugar and soda; chop in shortening.
  2. Add butter and dissolved yeast.
  3. Stir well.
  4. Keep covered in refrigerator at least 1 or 2 hours (better overnight) before using.
