Hot Spiced Wassail



  1. 1 gal. apple cider
  2. 1 qt. cranberry juice
  3. 3/4 c. sugar
  4. 2 c. orange juice
  5. 16 whole cloves (if small, add a few more)
  6. 1 tsp. whole allspice or 1 tsp. powdered
  7. 1 (6-inch) stick cinnamon, broken


  1. Combine cider, cranberry juice, orange juice and sugar in a large cooking pan.
  2. Tie spices in a cheesecloth bag.
  3. Simmer all over low heat for about 1/2 hour; leave spices in until next morning.
  4. This may be put into a crock-pot on low heat to keep warm while serving.
