Apple Cheddar Walnut Toasts



  1. 12 slices whole wheat french bread, thin slices (narrow kind)
  2. 1 tart apple, cored, thinly sliced
  3. 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  4. 12 cup walnut pieces
  5. 1 dash black pepper, to garnish


  1. Preheat the broiler.
  2. Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and toast lightly on both sides under the broiler.
  3. Remove toast from broiler and place 2 apple slices on each toast.
  4. Mound the cheese on top.
  5. Press the walnut pieces into the cheese.
  6. Now return to the broiler until cheese and walnuts are lightly browned.
  7. Sprinkle with black pepper, if desired.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
