Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  1. 5 apples
  2. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  3. 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  4. 12 cup rolled oats
  5. 1 cup butter, melted
  6. 1 cup granulated sugar
  7. 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  8. 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  9. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  10. 14 teaspoon salt
  11. 1 cup water

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Peel, core and slice apples.
  3. Make filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, cornstarch, half of the cinnamon, salt, vanilla and water.
  4. Mix thouroughly.
  5. Fold in apples into filling mixture and coat evenly.
  6. Spray 8 x 8 baking dish with butter flavored cooking spray.
  7. Pur apple mixture into baking dish.
  8. Make crumble topping: In a large mixing bowl combine flour, brown sugar, oats and melted butter.
  9. Mix well with a pastry blender or spatula.
  10. Spread crumble mixture over apples and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon.
  11. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
  12. Serve warm.
