Anzac Biscuits (Cookies)



  1. 1 cup plain flour
  2. 1 cup rolled oats, uncooked (regular oatmeal)
  3. 1 cup desiccated coconut
  4. 1 cup brown sugar
  5. 12 cup butter
  6. 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  7. 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda (same thing) or 1 teaspoon baking soda (same thing)
  8. 2 tablespoons boiling water


  1. Preheat the oven to 350F
  2. Sift the flour and combine with the oats, coconut, and brown sugar.
  3. Melt the butter and Golden Syrup in a saucepan over low heat.
  4. Mix the baking soda with water and add to the Golden Syrup and butter.
  5. Pour into the flour mixture and mix well.
  6. Put dollops about 1 tbsp large onto a greased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Cool on a wire rack and store in an airtight container.
