Apple Casserole With Chocolate Streusel Recipe



  1. CHOCOLATE STREUSEL non-stick cooking spray
  2. 6 Tbsp. fructose
  3. 6 Tbsp. flour
  4. 1 Tbsp. unsweetened Dutch cocoa
  5. 1 tsp cinnamon
  6. 3 Tbsp. diet margarine APPLE LAYER
  7. 6 x sweet apples, cored, and cut into thick slices
  8. 2 Tbsp. fructose cinnamon, several large pinches


  1. Heat oven to 350F and place rack in center.
  2. Spray a 10 x 8-inch shallow ovenproof casserole or possibly a 9 x 9-inch baking pan with non-stick spray.
  3. Streusel: Combine fructose, flour, cocoa, and cinnamon in bowl.
  4. Add in margarine and use fingertips to lightly knead all ingredients together till mix forms large clumps.
  5. Chill streusel.
  6. Apple layer: Place half of apple slices on bottom of casserole.
  7. Sprinkle with 1 Tbsp.
  8. fructose.
  9. Sprinkle several large pinches of cinnamon over apples.
  10. Add in remaining apple slices to casserole and sprinkle with remaining fructose and cinnamon.
  11. Bake 30 min and remove from oven.
  12. Strew streusel over apple casserole.
  13. Return to oven for 10 min.
  14. Serve immediately.
