Army Rice



  1. 2 lbs pork sausage
  2. 2 large onions, chopped
  3. 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  4. 1 bunch celery, chopped
  5. 2 cups long grain rice
  6. 12 cup sliced almonds
  7. 3 packages dry chicken noodle soup mix
  8. 9 cups boiling water


  1. Preheat oven to 375F degrees.
  2. In a Dutch Oven, over medium-high heat, add sausage, onions, pepper and celery.
  3. When sausage is browned, stir in rice and almonds.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine dry soup mix with boiling water; stir well.
  5. Stir soup mixture into Dutch Oven and combine.
  6. Cover casserole and bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 50 minutes.
  7. Serves a lot!
