Apple Dapple Cake

Ingredients

  1. 1-1/2 cups (350 ml) oil
  2. 2 cups (475 ml) sugar
  3. 2 eggs
  4. 3 cups (700 ml) all-purpose flour
  5. 1 tsp (5 ml). salt
  6. 1 tsp (5 ml). baking soda
  7. 1-1/2 cups (350 ml) pecans
  8. 3 cups (700 ml) apples, chopped
  9. 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk
  10. 1-1/2 cups (350 ml) brown sugar
  11. 3/4 cup (175 ml) butter or margarine

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (175 C.).
  2. Spray a tube pan with oil.
  3. In a mixing bowl, mix oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  4. Sift flour, baking soda and salt together and add to oil mixture.
  5. Fold in apples and pecans.
  6. Spoon into prepared tube pan and bake for one hour.
  7. Prepare glaze just before taking cake out of the oven.
  8. Mix ingredients together and microwave for 3 minutes, in 1 minute intervals.
  9. Pour over hot cake and let completely cool in pan, even over night will work.
  10. Loosen from sides from pan and remove.
