American Chop Suey, Janets Way

Ingredients

  1. 8 ounces, weight Medium Shells
  2. 1/2 pounds Ground Beef
  3. 1/2 pounds Ground Pork
  4. 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  5. 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
  6. 1 whole Large Onion, Chopped
  7. 1 Green Pepper, Chopped
  8. 2 cans (7 Oz. Size) Mushroom Slices, Drained
  9. 1 Scallion, Chopped
  10. 1 cup Sour Cream
  11. 1 can (10.75 Oz. Size) Tomato Soup
  12. 1 can (14 Oz. Size) Diced Tomatoes
  13. 1/4 cups Parmesan Cheese
  14. 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  15. 8 ounces, weight Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  16. Red Pepper Flakes, to taste
  17. 1 teaspoon Each Of Thyme, Salt And Cilantro
  18. 2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning

Directions

  1. In boiling salted water, cook pasta shells until al dente.
  2. 1.
  3. In a deep frying pan, cook meat until pink is gone; drain and set aside.
  4. 2.
  5. Heat olive oil and add garlic, onion, green pepper, mushrooms, and scallions.
  6. Saute till tender.
  7. 3.
  8. In a large bowl, mix sour cream and tomato soup together and set aside.
  9. 4.
  10. Return meat to the pan and add diced tomatoes.
  11. Add remaining ingredients.

  13. Add tomato mixture and bring to a boil.
  14. 6.
  15. Lower heat so as not to burn and add pasta.
  16. Stir to mix well.
  17. 7.
  18. Serve hot.
