Spaghetti Sauce To Can

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 bushel tomatoes
  2. 1 c. oil
  3. 1/4 c. minced garlic
  4. 6 cans tomato paste
  5. 3 peppers (2 sweet and 1 hot)
  6. 1 1/2 c. sugar
  7. 1/2 c. salt
  8. 1 Tbsp. sweet basil
  9. 2 Tbsp. oregano
  10. 1 tsp. Italian seasoning

Directions

  1. Cook ground or chopped peppers and onions in oil for 1/2 hour. Cook tomatoes and garlic as for juice.
  2. Put through the mill.
  3. (I use a food processor and do my tomatoes uncooked.
  4. I then add the garlic right to the juice.)
  5. Add peppers and onions to juice and remainder of ingredients.
  6. Cook approximately 1 hour.
  7. Put in jars and seal.
  8. Yields 7 quarts.
