Easy Apple Dumplings

Ingredients

  1. 1 can biscuits (10 count)
  2. 5 cooking apples
  3. 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  4. 1/2 c. brown sugar
  5. 1 1/2 c. water
  6. 1 tsp. apple pie spice
  7. 1 tsp. vanilla
  8. 1 stick butter or margarine

Directions

  1. Peel, cut apples into quarters.
  2. Roll out biscuits.
  3. Cut each in half.
  4. Put 1 quarter apple in each biscuit half.
  5. Fold dough over apple, place in a buttered sheet pan or large casserole dish. Mix next 5 ingredients; pour over dumplings, cut butter over top. Bake in a 350° oven until apples are done.
  6. Take from oven, baste and continue baking until golden brown.
  7. May be served with Cool Whip.
  8. Yields 8 to 10 portions.
