Spiced Nuts



  1. 1 c. sugar
  2. 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  3. 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
  4. 1/4 c. boiling water
  5. 2 c. pecan halves
  6. 1/2 tsp. vanilla


  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, cream of tartar and cinnamon. Place over medium heat; add boiling water.
  2. Boil and stir until syrup spins a thread.
  3. Remove from heat; add pecan halves and vanilla.
  4. Stir briskly until nuts are coated.
  5. Pour out onto waxed paper and separate with fork.
  6. Cool and store.
