Pepper Steak

Ingredients

  1. 1 lb. round steak, cut in small pieces
  2. 1/4 c. salad oil
  3. 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  4. 1 tsp. salt
  5. 1 1/4 c. water, divided
  6. 1 c. chopped green pepper
  7. 1 c. chopped onion
  8. 2 to 3 Tbsp. cornstarch

Directions

  1. Brown steak in hot oil.
  2. Add soy sauce, salt and 1/4 c. water.
  3. Cover and cook 45 minutes.
  4. Add peppers and onions and cook for 15 minutes.
  5. Combine cornstarch and 1 cup water.
  6. Stir into steak mixture.
  7. Cook until slightly thick.
  8. Serve steak over hot cooked rice.
  9. Yield: 4 servings.
