Bill Blass' Meat Loaf

Ingredients

  1. 2 lb. ground sirloin
  2. 1/2 lb. ground veal
  3. 1/2 lb. ground pork
  4. 2 Tbsp. butter
  5. 1 c. chopped celery
  6. 1 c. chopped onions
  7. 1/2 c. chopped fresh parsley
  8. 1/3 c. sour cream
  9. 1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
  10. 1 egg, beaten with 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  11. pinch of dried thyme
  12. pinch of dried marjoram
  13. 1 bottle Heinz chili sauce
  14. salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In large bowl, mix meat and set aside.
  2. In saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add celery and onions; cook until soft, about 10 minutes.
  4. Add celery and onion and all other ingredients to meat mixture, except chili sauce.
  5. Combine well and form into a loaf.
  6. Place meat loaf into baking dish and top with chili sauce. Bake 1 hour in preheated oven at 350°.
  7. Serves 6.
