Self Frosting Oatmeal Cookie

Ingredients

  1. 2 c. brown sugar
  2. 2 c. brown sugar
  3. 2 c. shortening
  4. 2 tsp. vanilla
  5. 4 eggs
  6. 3 c. flour
  7. 1 tsp. salt
  8. 1 tsp. cinnamon
  9. 1/2 tsp. cloves
  10. 2 tsp. baking soda
  11. 2 tsp. baking powder
  12. 5 c. oatmeal
  13. 2 c. raisins

Directions

  1. Cream shortening, sugars, vanilla and eggs.
  2. Beat well.
  3. Add dry ingredients.
  4. Add oatmeal and raisins.
  5. Use waxed paper to roll dough into 2 to 3-inch diameter rolls (usually 8 to 10-inches long).
  6. Chill.
  7. You may freeze dough for later use.
  8. Slice into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  9. Dip each slice into a small bowl of confectioners sugar.
  10. Bake in 350° oven for 10 minutes.
  11. Makes approximately 100 cookies.
