Wilted Lettuce



  1. leaf lettuce (according to desired serving sizes)
  2. 6 slices bacon
  3. 3 small green onions with tops
  4. 1 Tbsp. sugar
  5. 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  6. salt
  7. pepper


  1. Wash and cut lettuce and onions into small pieces.
  2. Fry bacon in skillet.
  3. Remove bacon and crumble into tiny chunks.
  4. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste and sugar on top of lettuce.
  5. Add vinegar to lettuce.
  6. Make sure that the bacon grease is still very warm, then pour over lettuce.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Serve with brown beans and cornbread.
