- 3 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1/4 tsp. marjoram
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 to 2 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- 2 lb. beef, cut in 1-inch cubes
- 1 c. dry red wine
- Saute onion in oil until tender.
- Add marjoram, salt and paprika.
- Add vinegar; mix well.
- Add meat and brown.
- Pour in wine; cover and simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
- Add water sparingly while cooking.
- Serve with noodles.
- Makes 6 servings.
