Hungarian Goulash

Ingredients

  1. 3 large onions, thinly sliced
  2. 2 Tbsp. oil
  3. 1/4 tsp. marjoram
  4. 1 tsp. salt
  5. 1 to 2 tsp. paprika
  6. 1 tsp. vinegar
  7. 2 lb. beef, cut in 1-inch cubes
  8. 1 c. dry red wine

Directions

  1. Saute onion in oil until tender.
  2. Add marjoram, salt and paprika.
  3. Add vinegar; mix well.
  4. Add meat and brown.
  5. Pour in wine; cover and simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
  6. Add water sparingly while cooking.
  7. Serve with noodles.
  8. Makes 6 servings.
