Stuffed Cabbages

Ingredients

  1. 1 head cabbage
  2. 1/2 lb. hamburger
  3. 1/2 c. cooked rice
  4. 1 onion, chopped
  5. 1 egg
  6. parsley
  7. salt and pepper to taste
  8. canned tomato sauce

Directions

  1. Pour boiling water over cabbage and cover for 1/2 hour.
  2. Cut around cabbage heart and pull off leaves.
  3. Brown ground beef. Cook and drain rice.
  4. Add to hamburger.
  5. Add egg, onion and seasonings.
  6. Place hamburger mixture in cabbage leaves and roll up separately.
  7. Secure leaves with toothpicks.
  8. Place rolls in casserole dish and pour tomato sauce over all.
  9. Cook slowly on top of stove for 2 hours.
