Nut And Poppy Seed Rolls

Ingredients

  1. 4 1/2 c. flour
  2. 1 tsp. salt
  3. 2 egg yolks
  4. 2 pkg. dry yeast
  5. 1 c. lukewarm water
  6. 1/2 c. margarine
  7. 4 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

  1. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water with sugar.
  2. Let stand while you mix margarine and flour as for pie crust.
  3. Make a well, then add egg yolks, salt and yeast mixture.
  4. Mix until smooth and dough leaves the sides of the bowl.
  5. Cut into 4 pieces and roll out as thin as possible.
  6. Spread filling and roll.
  7. Place on greased pans.
  8. Let raise for 1 hour, then brush with egg whites.
  9. Bake in 350°
  10. oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
  11. When baked, cover rolls with dampened cloth for 10 minutes.
