- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. nutmeg or mace
- 1/4. salad oil
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- Heat 3 to 4-inches oil to 375°.
- Measure flour, 1/4 cup sugar and nutmeg into bowl.
- Add oil, milk and egg; beat until smooth. Drop by teaspoons (too large puffs will not cook) into fat.
- Fry 4 or 5 at a time, about 3 minutes or until golden brown.
- Drain. Sift together 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll warm puffs in sugar-cinnamon mixture.
