Easy Sweet Dills

Ingredients

  1. 1 gal. whole dill pickles (purchased)
  2. 4 c. sugar
  3. 1 c. brown sugar, packed firm
  4. 1 Tbsp. whole pepper corn
  5. 2 Tbsp. whole allspice
  6. 2 1/2 c. cider vinegar
  7. 4 cloves garlic, crushed

Directions

  1. Drain juice off of pickles.
  2. Combine garlic, vinegar, spices and sugar.
  3. Bring to a boil; simmer 5 minutes.
  4. Add pickles and bring to a boil again.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Pack and cover with syrup.
  7. Leave 1/4 inch at top.
  8. Process 5 minutes in hot bath. Yields 2 quarts.
