Lynette'S Franklin Nut Cake

Ingredients

  1. 1 lb. butter
  2. 2 c. sugar
  3. 4 c. flour (plain)
  4. 6 eggs, beaten
  5. 2 tsp. vanilla
  6. 1 tsp. baking powder
  7. 1/2 lb. candied cherries, cut in half
  8. 1/2 lb. candied pineapple, cut
  9. pinch of salt
  10. 1 lb. pecans, chopped

Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar well.
  2. Add eggs, beating well.
  3. Add 3 cups flour which has been sifted with baking powder and salt.
  4. Mix 1 cup of flour with fruit and nuts; add vanilla.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Pour in tube pan that has been greased and floured.
  7. Bake at 250° (225°) for 3 hours.
  8. Let cool in pan.
