Velvet Pound Cake

Ingredients

  1. 3 c. sugar
  2. 1 1/2 c. Crisco
  3. 3 c. all-purpose flour
  4. 1 c. milk
  5. 7 eggs
  6. 1/2 tsp. salt
  7. 2 tsp. lemon flavoring

Directions

  1. Have all ingredients at room temperature.
  2. Cream sugar and Crisco.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
  4. Add salt.
  5. Add flour alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour.
  6. Add lemon.
  7. Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
  8. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
