- 4 c. fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 c. white wine vinegar
- 2 tsp. sugar
- Combine strawberries and vinegar in a bowl, cover and let stand at room temperature 24 hours; stir occasionally.
- Strain mixture through cheesecloth and discard all seeds.
- Stir in sugar and bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Pour vinegar into decorative jars and seal.
- Yields about 2 cups.
- Serve over salads.
