Rot Kraut (Red Cabbage)

Ingredients

  1. 2 Tbsp. shortening
  2. 1 medium red cabbage (4 c., shredded)
  3. 2 medium apples, chopped
  4. salt and pepper to taste
  5. 1 c. water
  6. 3 Tbsp. vinegar
  7. 2 Tbsp. flour
  8. 2 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

  1. Melt shortening.
  2. Add shredded cabbage, chopped apples and water.
  3. Cook until tender.
  4. Add blended flour, vinegar, sugar and seasoning.
  5. Cook a few minutes longer.
