D'S Danish

Ingredients

  1. 4 c. flour
  2. 3 tsp. sugar
  3. 1 tsp. salt
  4. 1 c. oleo
  5. 3 eggs, beaten
  6. 1 c. warm milk
  7. 1 pkg. yeast

Directions

  1. Mix flour,
  2. sugar,
  3. salt,
  4. and oleo
  5. as for pie crust. Dissolve yeast
  6. in warm milk; add to eggs. Mix dry and liquid ingredients
  7. thoroughly and refrigerate overnight. Then bring to room
  8. temperature
  9. and
  10. turn
  11. out
  12. on floured board.
  13. Knead well. Rest
  14. a
  15. bit
  16. (self
  17. and
  18. dough).
  19. Divide
  20. dough into 4 parts. Roll one part thin as for pie crust; brush with melted butter. Sprinkle
  21. with
  22. sugar, cinnamon, nuts and/or raisins. You can also
  23. spread
  24. with a
  25. filling
  26. such as poppy seed or dates (as for jelly roll).
  27. Roll
  28. tightly.
  29. Bake
  30. as is or cut 3/4 inch slices and bake in muffin tins.
  31. Bake at 375° about 20 minutes. Sugar/lemon icing may be used.
  32. Repeat with other 3 parts of dough.
