Snickerdoodles

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 c. butter, softened
  2. 1/2 c. shortening
  3. 1 1/2 c. sugar
  4. 2 eggs
  5. 2 3/4 c. flour
  6. 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  7. 1 tsp. soda
  8. 1/4 tsp. salt
  9. 2 Tbsp. sugar
  10. 2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400°.
  2. Mix thoroughly the butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.
  3. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonful into balls.
  4. Mix 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon.
  5. Roll balls in mixture and place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Remove immediately from baking sheet.
